Oooh, Aaah, OWL!!! January 21 2014

What a great start to the new year! Although, truth be told, I'm a bit behind on firming up my goals for 2014 and my office is STILL covered with chaos from Christmas, I'm certain that it's going to be a fabulous year! In fact… let's write that down on the 2014 Goals list…

Putting pen to paper is the hardest part… aaaaand, DONE!

Coming up soon, I'll share a smattering of Christmas cards and catch you up on a few little projects that were sprinkled in with the Christmas-crunch!

But for now, I'm simply elated to share this particular design because I've been waiting for the shower date to arrive since early November! ***Kudos to Lauren for taking care of the invites in plenty of time!***

As I've mentioned before, I absolutely LOVE when I get to start a custom invitation design with some sort of inspirational element from the new baby's room, a piece of a bridal dress or veil, china from the registry, or anything visual and unique to the guest of honor for the shower.

This time it was a set of handmade owl pictures that mom-to-be, Ani was going to hang in the baby's room.

A quick snapshot was all I needed to get started on the design!

I just love these fun little owls! The pattern, textures and colors were are great starting point for a design!

The hosts wanted to ask that guests bring a book in lieu of a card. This has been a popular request as it's a great way to help build the baby's library. My favorite part is that as you sign the book, mom and baby will always remember who it's from!

I heard that Ani was over the moon about the invitations. Being able to create a custom design that is unique to the event or person is a great way to go the extra mile when planning a shower or party for someone! And you'd be so surprised at just how easy it is to achieve that special touch!
