From the Archives: On the Formal Side March 13 2012

A loyal customer of mine needed an engagement party invitation for her sister. She wanted something a little more formal and classic. The bride requested details in black, gold and red, which are also the colors of the wedding. We used an ivory stock and matched it with a ivory envelope (pictured below with a red envelope as an option). I enjoyed creating a beautiful and classic invitation.

Shortly after the engagement party invitation, my wonderful client, Angelle, asked me to create a baby shower invitation for her other sister (wow weddings and babies all around, what an exciting time)! She requested a 3-D element on the invite and started me off with a nautical theme, and something that doesn't scream mushy gushy baby (a recurring theme for baby showers these days). So I went with a beautiful ships wheel that I added as the 3-D element. I love this invitation, and could even see this as a nautical wedding shower invite. I paired it with a gorgeous and rich colored navy blue envelope. Angelle addressed them by hand with a metallic pen.
