Tea for Two... Handmade Wedding Favors July 29 2011

Who doesn't love a garden wedding? My dear friends, Mindy and Billy, planned a wedding (in record time, may I add) for May this year. The setting was so beautiful and the weather was perfection (which is difficult to achieve in South Louisiana). Mindy wanted simplicity throughout and put much thought and planning into making sure all details of the night reflected her and Billy's tastes and style!

For favors, Mindy wanted to share a delicious tea with her guests. Mindy had discovered Harney & Son's Wedding Tea at the most delicious place in the world, Sucre on Magazine St. in New Orleans. Afterall, she and Billy would be moving to New Orleans upon returning from the Honeymoon. So, the week of the wedding, Mindy and her sisters got to work hand cutting and folding each and every little envelope which they would use for the favors. After the folding was done, they tucked two sachets of the Wedding Tea into each envelope. Et Viola... tea for two wedding favors!

She had me design a small square tag to tie onto each favor. I put a simple monogram (inspired from the "M" on their wedding invitations) on the first side, and since Mindy didn't want to fuss with a program, she had me put the couples new address on the reverse side. Inside the envelope, we put a second card, the first side thanking the guests for sharing their special day and the opposite side brewing instructions for the tea!

The whole thing came together so nicely, the wedding was BEAUTIFUL and it really meant a lot that I was able to help Mindy with a few little touches and contribute to such a wonderful evening!
